INTEGRATION & SUPPORT
Ad Element Selection & Integration
Integrating the Massive technology into a video game is
a simple and quick process that is completely supported
and tested by Massive. Minimal bandwidth is consumed,
and the seamless process has no impact on game play.
Developers have the ultimate control and final approval over how advertising is integrated into their games so all aspects of game play are seamless and thrilling to the gamer.
Massive works closely with its developer partners to ensure that the game environment is preserved and enhanced by the advertising.
Phase I: Design of the Inventory Elements
This is performed by dividing the game space into areas
called "Zones," which contain one or more Inventory
Elements. Typically, an Inventory Element will be a game
object texture map such as billboards, areas of walls
for posters, sides of delivery trucks and storefronts.
Massive works with developers to identify the most effective
potential ad elements; however, developers have the final
approval over advertising to be integrated into their
games.
Phase II: Integration of the Software Development
Kit (SDK)
Integration of the SDK, a lightweight footprint, usually
requires an average of two to three days and is performed
during the game's development, well in advance of critical
QA dates. The SDK is the client side of Massive's Ad Server,
and comprises an API linked to the spaces within the game
into which ads will be served. Once the ad client software
is integrated, the Massive client library pulls down advertising
from the Massive Ad Server in the background of game play.
Phase III: Testing & Support
Massive engineers ensure seamless and successful integration
of the Ad Client into a game, including the proper streaming
and loading of ads into the game, and the intended communication
between the game and the Ad Server.
Publishers and developers receive unlimited QA support,
and Massive ensures that the integration and QA process
is coordinated with the game development schedule.
Massive provides full technical support to publishers and developers at all times, either via on-site or remotely.
